There’s a lot less red in this map than there was in 2004. Still some very red areas, but very small relative to population.

This map breaks down, vote results in the 2008 election, scaling each county by ballots cast, then colored using red, blue, and shades of purple in between to indicate percentages of votes for the Republican and Democrat candidates.
