I bought a Nikon D40x this afternoon! Also, why does Adobe Reader insist on checking for updates when I’ve told it not to? Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

@tom_elko That’s 1.92 million pounds. That’s quite an amazing volume of waste; if I’m not mistaken, much is stored in temporary storage.
We won the first event in the Winter Carnival Bonspiel! Now I’m in Rochester. Good times.
We won our third game. Fourth is at 2:30 and should be very good.
We won our first two games! The St. Paul Winter Carnival is one of the funnerest bonspiels I’ve played in.
About to start the curling in the Saint Paul Winter Carnival bonspiel. We curl at 5:15 and 9:45 today (Friday) & Saturday at 10:15 and 2:45.
Going to Cook’s to pick up some Sausage Sister’s Sausages, to Anderson Farms drop-off for some farm-raised organic brisket, then Nina’s CafĂ©

Heading back from Moorhead; almost to St. Cloud. Anyone up for a Surly Two at the Blue Nile around 10:00?
Anyone going to the Blue Nile to try Surly’s Two tonight?
@taylorbanks I wish I was in toasty-warm Anchorage! It’s -9 in Moorhead, MN (near Fargo, ND). I don’t think we’re gonna to the high of -5.
A high of -5 F makes me want to not go outside.

Hackers extort power industry
Well, this was a matter of time. The evil hackers broke into power companies’ terribly-secured IT systems and then demanded payment or face system shutdown. Well, someone called the bluff and got systems shut down. This is the first active attack I have heard of thus far, but the CIA had deliberated for awhile whether to release this or not, (according to the linked site) I just hope this is...
On my way to Fergus Falls with a borrowed car, as the wife’s will not start.
Hooray! I got confirmation today that I do not suck at info security. I mean, I passed the CISSP exam.
Theresa put up a great fight in today’s final, but Busse drum Madison came out victorious. Final score: 8-4.
There’s something very soothing about posting twitters that are exactly 140 characters in length. This is not one of them.
Red finally came in to hit, but wound up splitting the house for yellow. Yellow’s next shot is light for a high guard that doesn’t do much.
Yellow tried to bring one more in but it missed everything and sat in the back of house.
Yellow calls a takeout and comes up with a bump-n-roll to the 4ft. Red tries to come under and hit but floats wide and through.
Yellow responded by drawing down to the corner. Red tries a raise again, but it was overswept and hit narrow.
Red kicks off the 6th with a tight center guard, and yellow comes right under it to the button. Red tried to follow suit but came up narrow.
So red is on the board after the fifth end with a score of 5-2. Yellow was fortunate to not give up more in that end.
T hit a red biter and stayed for shot, keeping red playing for two instead of four.
Red hit the yellow rock out and got a great roll. Jen peeled a guard & red drew to the center. T hit and rolled out and red’s draw was light
Red hit again, still not getting a roll under. Jen’s first hit was wide and missed completely.
Sally’s first shot tried to hit the lone red rock out, but hit thinly. Red responded with a guy to a rock in the house and yellow did too.
Like a few other ends, yellow starts with no guards and rocks in the house, while red’s first guard is through, and the second hit light.
That left yellow with two points for a score of 5-0 after the fourth end. We were lucky to get two there with the strategy of that end.
Red tried a nice shot, hitting a corner guard to roll onto the 4 foot, but they hit it too thin, rolling the shooter out.
Theresa isn’t playing her normal more-aggressive game today, but red isn’t taking full advantage of that fact.
Red took their time to respond with a narrow draw that crashed the guard. Yellow comes back with another too-high guard instead of a counter
